Aleksandra Klimek-Lipnicka

A PhD candidate in the discipline of art studies. A graduate of History at Jagiellonian University and Contemporary Art at UKEN, where she earned her master’s degree with distinction for her thesis titled How Do Photobooks Work? The Book as an Affective Medium in Contemporary Polish Photography and Its Institutional Status. Photographer, independent curator, and cultural animator. Within the Doctoral School, she develops her research on the affective potential of photography, particularly its connections with melancholy and hysteria. She combines art theory with explorations in other disciplines, such as philosophy and psychology.
