Cezary Ruchała

I am a PhD student in the humanities in the discipline of history. I completed my bachelor’s (2021) and master’s (2023) studies at the Pedagogical University of Cracow in the field of history. The topic of my master’s thesis was Świniarsko in the period of social, political, economic and cultural changes of 1848-1939.

My research interests focus on the regional history of Sądecczyzna in the 20th century, with particular emphasis on the everyday life of the rural population and the political activity of the peasant movement in Galicja. I am currently preparing a dissertation, titled The Development of the Chełmiec Commune in the First Three Decades of the Polish People’s Republic (1945-1977).
