Lidia Krawczyk
Visual artist, designer, curator and researcher whose work centres around spaces of conflict and tensions within cultural mechanisms and systems of identity formation. Her practice encompasses drawing, photography, video, animation, and initiation of performative actions. Krawczyk received her MA from the Jagiellonian University Institute of Audiovisual Arts, followed by Postgraduate Gender Studies at her alma mater. Currently, she artistically researches social photography for her dissertation project at the Pedagogical University of Krakow Doctoral School, analysing mechanism of operations of power and methods of behavioural data usage within global digital architecture. For over a decade, Krawczyk was affiliated with the Bunkier Sztuki CAG in Krakow, where she produced various projects in the form of group problem exhibitions, individual shows, research projects and exhibition experiments. Krawczyk has received numerous scholarships and awards, including: Creative Scholarship of the City of Krakow (2021); Artist of the Month, ART from HEART CIC, London (2021); Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Kultura Online” [Culture Online] grant (2020); Krakow Municipal Office “Kultura Odporna” [Resilient Culture] scholarship (2020); and Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Aktywność obywatelska” [Civic Engagement] grant (2015).
